That’s what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is. Most people love you for who you pretend to be. To keep their love, you keep pretending - performing. You get to love your pretense. It’s true, we’re locked in an image, an act - and the sad thing is, people get so used to their image, they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And if you try to remind them, they hate you for it, they feel like you’re trying to steal their most precious possession.

Sometimes I wish I was a kid again.
I daydream of the days filled with innocence, laughter, and naivety. I dream of the squeaky swings, the old coloring books, and the incomplete sand castles on the side of the beach. Everyone is growing up too fast nowadays, claiming to be an adult even though they are still a child. I don’t understand why so many people would want to grow up so fast though. For me, I love the idea of being a kid. No worries, no bullshit, no stress, no guilt, no responsibilities, and plenty of childish fun. One of the best things about being a kid is having the power to be totally care-free everything and anything. I could be anything I want to be - a prince, a dragon, a superhero - and no one would judge me for being so.

I’m a lover and a fighter. I get angry easily, but I’m working on it. I sleep and think too much, but I get my shit done. I have a weakness for sweet talkers, but I’m learning and enforcing my boundaries. I don’t let many people in, but once they’re in, they’re there forever. I’m strong and independent and I’ve been broken, but never shattered.

Sometimes I feel like nobody wants to listen to me so I just keep it to myself.

I learned very early in life that I was always going to need people a little more than they needed me.
